Like I was sayin… you have to read the thing. I was have seen serveral posts that indicate that the health care reform bill HR 3200 will cover illegal immigrants.
It seems that it is the president that is spreading myths about health care when he says that illegals will not be covered under the plan. According to the Congressional Research Service the bill will.
I can see why the dems wanted to pass this bill as quickly as possible without giving anybody time to read it. At some point, we have to start demanding more from our government.

In section 246 of H.R. 3200, the bill text clearly states: “nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.” In other words, undocumented illegal aliens would not be eligible for subsidized health benefits under the bill. Similar language can be found in the Senate HELP Committee health reform measure. What could be more straightforward?

Yes, illegals can not get tax credits. The bill does not stop illegals from enrolling in exchanges or public options. The bill contains no language that requires people to prove they are in the U.S. legally before enrolling. The CRS indicates that they will be covered and Dems have voted down ammendments to the bill that requires proof of legality.
Saying that illegals don’t get tax credits doesn’t stop them from enrolling in the program. If they want to stop illegals from enrolling in the program, they can clearly state it in the bill.

gerbilsnite, are you saying that you are happy with your representatives voting yes on bills that they don’t even even read? Are you saying that if you are for something, it doesn’t matter how it gets done?
